It was Daddy’s Night at Preschool and the theme was Outer Space. We needed an art project that we could make out of re-purposed materials. So I picked jet packs made from cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, duct tape and an old sheet.
I covered each cereal box with silver duct tape, then cut the paper towel rolls in half. Next I taped the rolls to the bottom on the jet pack. Lastly I made the straps by laying the tape on the material and cutting or ripping each strap and taping, again with the silver duct tape to the jet pack box.
At school the kids were able to decorate with outer space stickers and by sticking tissue paper in their jets. Then they were ready to fly up into outer space!
This project was a lot of fun and looked super cute when finished! Great idea for an outer space birthday party as well.
